Edson Ortiz Matos is the dedicatee of WREN in 2016. Ortiz, as is known to all, is a graduate in Electrical Engineering at UFPA. A master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and PhD also in the field, the UFPA. He has been excellent professor for already 37 years, Ortiz, in addition to teaching activities in undergraduate and graduate school, went through several strategic positions in the

renewable energy to novel materials for energy harvesting, storage and conversion. Every participant will be exposed to the latest advances in sustainable-energy technologies, such as fuel cells, photovoltaics,  CO2 photoreduction and hydrogen production. All the themes will be inline with the current research activities at the Laboratory for Preparation and Computation of Nanomaterials (www.lpcn.ufpa.br), Federal University of Pará, Brazil.
